Our Eyeglass Warranty
There is a one-year manufacturer’s warranty against manufacturer’s defects.
Frames damaged or broken due to neglect, accident, abuse, or misuse are not covered. This includes damage done by a dog chewing your glasses, or if your glasses are run over by a car, for instance.
If you need a frame replacement that is not covered under the manufacturer’s warranty as specified above, we will give a 20% discount off the retail price of the replacement frame for one year from the date of purchase.
There will be a $20 shipping and restocking charge when ordering a new frame under manufacturer’s warranty. This covers the cost of postage to return the defective frame for credit and the postage to ship the new frame to our office. Unfortunately, the manufacturer does not reimburse our office for these costs, so we are forced to pass those along to you.
• Uncoated plastic lenses do not have scratch resistance, so there is no warranty on uncoated lenses. Therefore, we highly recommend opting for the scratch resistant coating at the time of purchase, so the lenses will have a replacement warranty, in the event that they become scratched. Depending on the coating you select, the lenses can be replaced under warranty at least once, and sometimes multiple times, without additional cost to you.
• Polycarbonate lenses and Hi index lenses have a one-year, one time manufacturer’s replacement warranty for scratches, cracks, and breakage.
• Anti -reflective/anti-glare Coatings have a one or two year manufacturer’s warranty depending on the brand purchased as listed below:
Crizal 2 times in 2 years
Unity Unlimited times in 2 years
Factory 1 time in 1 year
If you need a lens replacement that is not covered under the manufacturer warranty as specified above, we will give a 20% discount off the retail price of lenses for one year from the date of purchase.
There will be a $5 energy surcharge for the replacement of lenses. Again, this reflects the lab charge to transport the new lenses to our office.
There is no charge for fitting and adjustments of the frames that are purchased from our office. You could drop in to get adjustments at any time, however, we may ask you to leave your glasses if the repair is complicated or if we are busy assisting other patients. Of course, we will make every effort to accommodate you in a timely manner.
